Leotards
LEOTARDS
It is easy to wash a leotard with perfect results if you follow the washing instructions carefully. The simple keys to success are:
1) use little or no detergent, (avoids fabric damage)
2) always wash inside out (protects the embellishments)
3) use a large volume of water, ( disperses any dye loss)
4) get rid of the water from the leotard after rinsing. (avoids colour run)
If you have a cold, very short wash and short spin on your machine this is acceptable and is just as appropriate as hand washing
Recommended Washing Instructions
1) Turn your leotard inside out
2) Use a very mild detergent or no detergent at all – SEE NOTES BELOW
3) Gently hand wash separately in a large volume of water
4) Rinse immediately, do not let the garment soak
5) Spin inside out a low speed
6) Use a THICK, plastic hanger to dry. Do not tumble dry
7) DO NOT DRIP DRY, DRY FLAT OR LEAVE FOLDED WET
NOTES
DO NOT use fabric conditioner, dryer sheets or liquids containing fabric conditioner (i.e. BOLD) under any circumstances. The use of any type of softener will cause the fabric to deteriorate and colours to fade. Also conditioners react to the adhesive on embellishments and can cause jewels/sequins to fall off
Do not use hairspray while wearing your leotard, if you need to apply it while wearing put a towel over your shoulders – hairspray will strip the fabric of its shine.
Always wash a leotard after each wear, perspiration is acid and will again cause the fabric to lose colour and shine. Equally if you sweat a lot do not leave your leotard damp in a kit bag.

Recommended Washing Instructions
1) Turn you garments inside out
2) Machine wash at 30 degrees – do not use fabric conditioners or combined liquids such as Bold
3) Do not tumble dry
4) Do not iron
NOTES
DO NOT use fabric conditioner, dryer sheets or liquids containing fabric conditioner (i.e. BOLD) under any circumstances if you have jewels on your tracksuit. Conditioners react to the adhesive on embellishments and can cause jewels/sequins to fall off
